The origin of Pink Sari Inc. was The Pink Sari Project. This project was conceived by Multicultural Health Communication Services in 2014, with funding from Cancer Institute NSW, to raise awareness about breast cancer screening amongst the Indian and Sri Lankan communities because the screening rates were comparatively lower in these communities compared to the state average.
