Global Prisons Infectious Diseases Network

Logo for Global Prisons Infectious Diseases Network

The Global Prisons Infectious Diseases Network connects clinical researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and advocates committed to preventing and treating the major infectious diseases affecting people in prisons, including hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV), HIV, tuberculosis (TB), and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Each of these infectious diseases is 2-50 times more common amongst people in prison than in the community. The Network facilitates knowledge exchange and translation of research findings, and promotes advocacy for changes to policy and practice for the sector worldwide.
