Volunteer Host - Supporting International Seafarers

Location: Mission to Seafarers Victoria (MtSV)

Hours: minimum 4 hours per week

Each year, more than 10,000 seafarers from around the world visit centres operated by Mission to Seafarers Victoria. By joining our team as a Volunteer Host, you can play a meaningful role in supporting their wellbeing during their time ashore.

Seafarers often spend weeks or months at sea, away from family and familiar surroundings. Our Flying Angel Club in Docklands provides a welcoming space where they can relax, reconnect, and feel at home. As a Volunteer Host, you will help create this environment through practical support and genuine human connection.

In this role, you will welcome visitors, provide information about the centre and Melbourne, respond to enquiries, and assist with services such as SIM card support and foreign exchange. Your presence helps ensure every seafarer feels supported, heard, and valued.

If you are approachable, adaptable, and enjoy engaging with people from diverse cultures, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference.
