We are seeking animal care assistants working alongside our live-in animal care team. You can commit to volunteer once per week, per fortnight or per month.

The role involves:

Barn and habitat cleaning Managing animal feeds Animal health assessments Keeping health and operational records
Preparation and administration of medications Barn preparation Resident barning and head counts

Pre-requisites:

– Full training will be given

– Must be cautiously confident around large animals

– Must be able to commit for a minimum of six months

– Must commit to volunteer either weekly, fortnightly or monthly

Desired:

– Follows a vegan lifestyle

– Large animal experience a plus but not essential

All training is provided by our resident sanctuary staff. Volunteers are required to sign a safety waiver and follow all safety and biosecurity instructions.

Winter shifts are 6.30am to 11.45am or 11.45am to 5.00pm Summer shifts are 4.45am to 10.00am or 11.45am to 6.45pm
