Key Duties

  • Attend and actively participate in monthly Board meetings (held online, approximately 1.5 hours each)
  • Review board papers, policies, strategic plans, and financial reports ahead of each meeting
  • Contribute to the development, review, and monitoring of Dodgeball Australia's Strategic Plan
  • Provide oversight of key operational functions including finance, events, and risk management
  • Declare and manage any conflicts of interest in accordance with Dodgeball Australia policy
  • Champion the Dodgeball Australia mission within your professional and personal networks
  • Represent Dodgeball Australia with integrity at events and in the broader Dodgeball community
  • Contribute to at least one strategic initiative or committee per term

Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, board governance and director duties (Duty of Care, Duty of Loyalty, Duty of Obedience)
  • Ability to review and critically engage with financial reports, strategic plans, and board papers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate constructively
  • Commitment to acting with integrity, accountability, and confidentiality
  • Alignment with Dodgeball Australia's values: Excellence, Growth, Inclusion, Respect, and Community
  • Prior board, committee, or leadership experience is an advantage but not required
  • A connection to or passion for sport, community organisations, or the Dodgeball community is welcomed

Organisational Background

Dodgeball Australia (DA) is the peak national body for Dodgeball in Australia. Our responsibility is to promote and maintain the growth of Dodgeball across all Australian states and territories. We unify the rules and policies for Dodgeball in Australia to ensure it is recognised as a legitimate sport that attracts talented and enthusiastic athletes at both social and international levels.

With the support of our dedicated team of volunteers and members, we deliver adult and youth development programmes, coaching certifications, social activities, and world-class tournaments for the benefit of the sport and our community. Dodgeball Australia is an official member of the World Dodgeball Federation (WDBF).
