At Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital, every day brings new patients, new challenges, and new opportunities to make a difference. From injured Turtles to orphaned birds and reptiles, our team provides urgent care to native wildlife — and our volunteers are at the heart of it all.
We’re looking for friendly, reliable individuals to join us as Reception Volunteers, supporting the day-to-day operations of our hospital and helping ensure every animal (and every person) is welcomed with care.
About Us
Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital provides urgent veterinary care to sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife. Now based at our Lennox Head site, our dedicated veterinary team works year-round to treat and rehabilitate animals impacted by habitat loss, disease, and human activity.

What You’ll Be Doing

Welcoming visitors, wildlife carers, and rescue groups

Answering phone calls and assisting with enquiries

Supporting wildlife admissions and basic record keeping

Keeping the reception area organised and welcoming

Assisting with light administrative tasks
About You

Friendly, approachable, and confident communicating with people

Comfortable answering phones and using basic computer systems

Calm and adaptable in a sometimes-busy environment Reliable and able to commit to a regular shift (where possible)

Previous admin or reception experience is helpful but not essential.
