Game day supervisors/referees - connecting with young people through sport
We are seeking game day supervisors and volunteer referees to support Fitzroy Lions soccer club – ensuring kids living in public housing in Melbourne's inner north have opportunities to play sport, and uniting families of all backgrounds through the 'world game'.
We are about more than just football – our ethos is to bring the community together and show that our diversity is our strength.
About us:
One of our core missions is to remove any barriers to accessing organised sport. That's why Fitzroy Lions is completely free to play – the only registered soccer club in Victoria to offer this. No club fees, no registration fees, and all kit is provided free of charge.
90% of our players are proud residents of the Fitzroy, Collingwood and Richmond public housing communities, and without FLSC many of them would miss out on the social, mental and physical benefits sport brings.
Alongside our junior teams, we also run community outreach and after-school programs.
Responsibilities
As a game day supervisor/referee, you'll be responsible for setting up pitches, refereeing junior soccer games (if you're confident with basic rules) and supporting our players and coaches. You will need a valid WWCC.
Please get in touch with Eloise (0406 833 404) if you'd like to have a chat about this opportunity. To apply, please email us with a bit about yourself and your relevant skills and experience. Thanks!
