At Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital, every day brings new patients, new challenges, and new opportunities to make a difference. From injured Turtles to orphaned birds and reptiles, our team provides urgent care to native wildlife — and our volunteers are at the heart of it all.

We’re looking for friendly, reliable individuals to join us as Reception Volunteers, supporting the day-to-day operations of our hospital and helping ensure every animal (and every person) is welcomed with care.

About Us

Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital provides urgent veterinary care to sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife. Now based at our Lennox Head site, our dedicated veterinary team works year-round to treat and rehabilitate animals impacted by habitat loss, disease, and human activity.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing specialised diets for a variety of wildlife patients

  • Cleaning and maintaining enclosures to a high standard

  • Assisting with general hospital cleaning and laundry

  • Supporting the veterinary team with day-to-day tasks

  • Helping ensure a safe, clean, and organised environment for recovery

About You

  • Passionate about wildlife and animal welfare

  • Comfortable with hands-on, physical tasks (cleaning, lifting, standing)

  • Reliable and able to follow instructions and protocols

  • Calm, patient, and willing to learn

  • Able to work as part of a team

Previous experience is not required — just a positive attitude and willingness to help.
