The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Multicultural Association of Russian Speaking Women - Ogonyok.

As a volunteer AUSLAN interpreter, you will play an important role in supporting clear and inclusive communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing clients and our team. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing accurate AUSLAN interpretation during meetings, activities, or appointments.
  • Supporting clients to fully participate in conversations and community programs.
  • Working alongside staff to ensure information is delivered in a respectful and accessible way.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Assisting with both one-on-one and small group interactions.

Key skills: - Working proficiency in AUSLAN. Perfection is not required, would love someone to give it their best crack!

  • Location: South Melbourne, South Yarra, and St Kilda
  • Commitment: Up to 2 hours per week (in person)
  • Clients: Adults
  • Support: You will always be accompanied by a team member
  • Requirements: No Russian language skills required
