NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is seeking an experienced and motivated leader to guide and support emergency management volunteers. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to your community while leading meaningful work during times of need.

About the Role NSW SES is the lead agency for flood, storm, and tsunami response, and provides critical rescue and missing persons search capabilities across New South Wales. The organisation is powered by dedicated volunteers who support their communities when it matters most.

As a Local Commander, you will:

• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of community-based emergency responders
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
• Support Unit Commanders across the Tamworth Regional Council Local Government Area
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and operational effectiveness
• Implement strategies to enhance efficiency and service delivery across the local command
• Deliver and support training to build capability and preparedness
• Provide coaching, guidance, and feedback to support volunteer development

You will also be responsible for coordinating operational delivery and ensuring Units are supported to meet service requirements. A SES vehicle will be provided for travel associated with the role.
