HammondCare invites enthusiastic volunteers to help older adults embrace the outdoors, stay active, and feel deeply connected to their local community. Requirements & Qualities:
- A genuine enjoyment of connecting with older people in a friendly, supportive manner.
- A love for being outdoors and sharing that experience with others.
- Warmth, patience, and reliability.
- Ability to walk with residents safely and support them during gentle exercise activities
What You’ll Do:
- Walk alongside residents, clients, or patients in a supportive and friendly way, encouraging movement and engagement with their surroundings.
- Assist with gentle outdoor exercises or light stretches under the guidance of allied health staff.
- Foster social connections and conversations that enrich both your life and the lives of those you meet.
- Provide feedback to the Volunteer Coordinator or care staff about activities, sharing observations and suggestions.
