Events and Fundraising Coordinator

Palms Australia

The Palms Australia Events Coordinator will assist with the planning and organisation of our fundraising and solidarity building activities.
Hours are FLEXIBLE, between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. You may also be able to complete some work from home, if this suits you.

**Purpose of Activities you will Support **

  1. To increase the Palms Australia profile to attract good candidates for international volunteer placement
  2. To nurture our network of supporters
  3. To ensure that all events are revenue positive, in order to contribute to administration of our overseas volunteer placements program

Key Responsibilities In this role you will work with the Executive Director and other key staff in order to attract good candidates for our international volunteering mission, and in order to support our ongoing fundraising efforts by:

  1. Contributing towards a strategy to lift the profile of Palms International Volunteering
  2. Organising fundraising and community gathering events

  3. Developing workplace giving events for potential corporate sponsors.

Skills, Experience and Attributes

  • Significant event management experience which is applicable to an organization with limited financial resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, including capacity to prioritise and manage a varied workload
  • Ability to work well in a team and unsupervised
  • Enthusiasm to raise awareness about Palms Australia

Since 1961 our 'people-to-people' approach has been a successful methodology in bringing people together to exchange skills and build capabilities. Over that time we have engaged over 1,500 Australian individuals and organisations to assist developing communities become self-sufficient, thereby nurturing a model of sustainable development that exists long after our Global Volunteers have returned home.
