Volunteer Drivers - Supporting Seafarers

Volunteer Driver - Supporting Seafarers
Location - Mission to Seafarers Victoria (MtSV)
Hours - minimum 4 hours per fortnight
Are you interested in learning more about the world and international seafaring while making a meaningful difference in people's lives?
At Mission to Seafarers Victoria, our dedicated team of volunteer drivers helps facilitate shore leave for more than 1,000 seafarers each month. These individuals spend long periods at sea, often away from family and loved ones, and your role will help provide them with a warm and welcoming experience while they are in Melbourne.
As a Volunteer Driver, you will play a key part in connecting seafarers to the community. This includes collecting seafarers from the port in our 12-seater minibus, transporting them to our Docklands centre and back, and engaging in friendly conversation along the way. You'll also assist by answering questions about local shopping, services, and attractions, while being attentive to any needs or concerns they may have.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident navigating Melbourne's roads, enjoys meeting people from diverse cultural backgrounds, and is passionate about contributing to a supportive and inclusive environment.
