Social Media and Website Administrator
This role is only a few hours of time each week. Flexible hours, volunteer from home.
Gosford 50+ Leisure and Learning Centre Inc. is operated by a Voluntary Management Committee. The Centre’s main aim is to provide a safe, friendly environment for people over the age of 50 years to meet and participate in activities that will provide physical, mental and social wellbeing. Through your work as our volunteer Social Media and Website Administrator, you will directly contribute to fostering a sense of belonging and engagement for our senior community, ensuring they have easy access to information about our activities, events, and the Centre’s mission. By managing our website and social media channels, you’ll play a central role in connecting new members to our Centre, increasing visibility, and building a supportive online community.
Key duties: Website Management and Development: · Complete the Centre’s website using WIX, ensuring it’s user-friendly, informative, and visually engaging. This includes creating new pages, adding content, and organising information about our programs, events, and services.

Maintain the website, keeping it up-to-date with the latest news, events, and information. Regularly review content for accuracy and relevance, ensuring visitors can easily find what they need and feel encouraged to engage with the Centre.

Ensure the website is accessible for all users, particularly seniors, by maintaining a clean, intuitive, and mobile-friendly design. Social Media Management:

Create engaging social media posts across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) that promote activities, events, and community stories, generating interest and excitement about the Centre. Your content will help keep our seniors informed and motivated to stay active.

Manage and monitor social media comments, responding to questions, messages, and feedback in a friendly, respectful, and supportive manner. This will foster an inclusive online community where seniors feel heard and valued.

Grow the Centre’s online following by using creative strategies to attract new members and engage current ones. You’ll help raise awareness of the Centre’s services and create a space where seniors can interact, share experiences, and build relationships.
The flexibility to volunteer mostly from home, with occasional visits to the Centre to meet with volunteers and members, ensuring alignment with the Centre’s goals.
With just a couple of hours each week, your efforts will directly impact how seniors in the community connect with the Centre and access important information. Through your work, you’ll help make the Centre more visible, ensuring that new members find us and feel welcomed, while also keeping our current members engaged and excited about everything we offer. Your online presence will create a space for both online and offline connections to thrive, contributing to the overall wellbeing of the senior community
