Gosford 50+ Leisure and Learning Centre Inc. is operated by a Voluntary Management Committee. The Centre’s main aim is to provide a safe, friendly environment for people over the age of 50 years to meet and participate in activities that will provide physical, mental and social wellbeing.

This volunteer role will allow you to make a lasting impact on the lives of seniors by helping us grow, connect with local services, and ensure our members stay informed about exciting new programs and events. Working mostly from home, you’ll have the flexibility to contribute to our cause while directly enhancing the visibility of the Centre.

Duties include: *Liaise with local radio stations to ensure that our ads are up-to-date and effectively promoting the Centre’s offerings. Your work will help raise awareness of the Centre’s impact on the local community, encouraging more seniors to join and participate.

*Distribute brochures to local libraries and community centres, ensuring that our message reaches those who can benefit from our programs. By getting our information into the hands of those who need it, you’ll be helping seniors access valuable resources and opportunities.

*Write and place articles in newspapers and other local publications to highlight the Centre’s activities, successes, and events. Your creative writing will bring attention to the positive impact the Centre has on the community, while inspiring seniors to get involved and make new connections.

*Network with home care providers to promote the Centre’s services, ensuring that homebound seniors or their caregivers are aware of the resources available. Your networking efforts will help foster valuable partnerships and ensure that our Centre reaches those who may not otherwise have known about us.

*Design flyers and promotional materials for new groups and events at the Centre, helping us communicate the exciting and diverse offerings available to seniors. Your design work will be key in attracting new members and keeping current ones engaged, helping the Centre thrive and grow.

*Occasionally visit the Centre to maintain connections and collaborate with the voluntary committee, ensuring all promotional efforts align with the Centre’s goals and needs.

*Potential to help assist with updating our website events and Centre Activities, depending on your skill-set, on our user-friendly Wix site.

With just a few hours of your time each week, you’ll be helping us create an even stronger and more connected community for seniors. Your creativity, communication, and networking efforts will ensure that our Centre’s important work continues to grow, benefiting more seniors and enriching their lives for years to come.
