Maybe you think "I don't even like making my own bed" but every volunteer who has joined this service loves it. Giving someone the dignity of a clean, fresh bed is priceless and often the first thing that an older person, or person with a disability needs assistance with. Having this service helps individuals stay in their own home. You will be working with a partner to visit approximately 6 to 10 individuals on a run. At each home you will work together to change sheets, pillowcases and towels. All linen is returned to the Centre for laundering.

Another part of your role will be to chat to the clients, check in with them and see how they are doing. This enables you to make a connection with each person and let your Service Manager know if there are concerns or follow up needed.

The service occurs on a Wednesday and a Thursday, leaving at approx. 8.30 am and returning by 11am. You can volunteer as often as you wish. We do rosters a month in advance so you will have notice. If you are available for last minute runs to fill in for those on holiday or unwell that would be helpful too.
