Position Overview

Volunteering as a Retail Assistant in one of our Lifeline stores means more than sorting shelves, it means being part of something bigger. You’ll be helping to create a positive, welcoming environment for customers, all while raising essential funds for Lifeline’s crisis support and suicide prevention services.

No previous experience? No worries! We’ll provide all the training and guidance you need. All we ask for is your enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to be part of a passionate, community-driven team.

We currently operate six retail stores across the Macarthur and Western Sydney region, and we’re always looking for friendly, motivated volunteers to join our growing team in the below locations.

Tahmoor

Camden

Campbelltown

Castle Hill

Narellan

Liverpool

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service with a friendly, approachable manner

• Assist customers with enquiries and purchases, and promote Lifeline’s mission when appropriate

• Help receive, sort, price and merchandise donated goods

• Ensure the store is clean, tidy and visually appealing

• Assist with store displays and stock rotation

• Maintain a high level of communication with store staff and fellow volunteers

• Adhere to all operational procedures, including cash handling (if applicable), safety guidelines and stock management

• Support the Shop Manager and fellow volunteers with day-to-day store operations

• Represent Lifeline’s values and mission in the community

You may also be asked to support other duties as needed, based on your skills and interests.
