Assistant Group Leader – Logan Village Scout Group (Online & Local Involvement) About the Role

The Logan Village Scout Group is seeking a dedicated Assistant Group Leader to support the management and leadership of our thriving Scout Group. You’ll work closely with the Group Leader to help guide and mentor Section Leaders, assist in planning activities, ensure safety standards are met, and promote Scouting values across the Group.

This role supports over 40 young people in Scouting — from Joey Scouts through to Venturers — helping them build confidence, leadership, and life skills through fun and adventure.

While some local involvement is needed for key events and support, much of the coordination and communication can be done online, offering flexibility for busy volunteers.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong communication and people skills
• Leadership or mentoring experience (desirable but not essential)
• Ability to work collaboratively with adult volunteers
• Commitment to Scouting values and youth development
• Comfortable using technology and video meetings

Requirements

• Must hold or be eligible for a Working with Children Blue Card (QLD)
• Become a member of Scouts Queensland
• Complete essential leader training modules (provided at no cost)
