About the role As a Volunteer supporter, you will provide friendly, non-clinical social connection to adults who may be experiencing loneliness or social isolation. Support is primarily delivered through online conversation or shared activities, making this role flexible and accessible. The focus is on simple human connection — listening, chatting, and sharing everyday moments — rather than advice-giving, counselling, or crisis support.

Training, recognition & protection Volunteers receive induction guidance and ongoing support, along with recognition such as certificates of service and appreciation activities.

LifeLinkConnect maintains appropriate insurance coverage for approved volunteer activities, including Public Liability Insurance and Volunteer Personal Accident Insurance. Where required, the organisation also covers the cost of police checks for volunteers.

Volunteer certificates can be issued monthly upon request and emailed to your registered email address as a record of your volunteer service.

Centrelink participants are welcome to apply. Where applicable, LifeLinkConnect can complete the organisation section of the SU462 – Verification of Voluntary Work form.

Who can volunteer? No formal qualifications or previous experience are required. We welcome volunteers who are reliable, respectful, and enjoy connecting with others. This role suits people who want to make a meaningful difference without a heavy time commitment. Please note: If the private arrangement option is selected during an applicant’s registration, it is outside our volunteer program. How to apply Interested volunteers can register via the LifeLinkConnect website to join as a Supporter. Participation begins once registration and any required onboarding are complete. Volunteer certificates are emailed monthly to your registered email address as a record of your volunteer service.
