About Greater Western Sydney Advocacy Network (GWSAN)
GWSAN is a growing regional advocacy network focused on spatial justice, youth opportunity and equitable public investment across Greater Western Sydney. We bring together professionals, researchers and community members to strengthen the region’s voice in policy and reform.
To sustain and scale this work, we are seeking a Grants & Philanthropy Specialist to support funding development.
Key responsibilities
Identify relevant grant and philanthropic funding opportunities
Maintain a funding calendar and application tracker
Draft and refine grant applications and concept notes
Assist with preparing basic budgets (in collaboration with Executive)
Track reporting requirements and funding milestones
Contribute to building a long-term funding strategy
This role focuses on sustainability and strategic growth rather than day-to-day project delivery.
Skills and experience
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience writing grant applications or funding proposals
Understands philanthropic or government funding processes
Can translate advocacy work into clear, measurable outcomes
Is organised and deadline-driven
Is comfortable working independently
Formal qualifications are not required.
