About US Harding Miller Education Foundation (HMEF) is an Australian charity dedicated to supporting girls attending Australian Public Schools who demonstrate academic excellence, face financial barriers, and are highly motivated to succeed at school and pursue tertiary education across the country.

Since 2016, HMEF has awarded scholarships to over 1,600 girls from over 400 public schools across every state and territory in Australia. Each scholarship is valued at over $20,000 and provides recipients with the tools, mentoring and support they need to reach their academic potential.

The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Public Relations professional or PR agency to volunteer their time and expertise to help raise awareness of the Foundation and amplify our impact.

This is a pro bono opportunity ideal for:

• PR professionals passionate about education, equity and social change who are looking to give back

• Boutique or mid-sized PR agencies seeking meaningful community impact

• Flexible work - a couple hours a month

How you will make an Impact Depending on your expertise and availability, support may include:

• Developing and executing PR strategies to elevate the Foundation’s profile and reach

• Identifying and securing media opportunities across print, digital and broadcast

• Drafting media releases, opinion pieces, and story pitches

• Supporting major announcements, milestones and campaigns

• Shaping clear, compelling messaging and positioning for donors, partners and the broader community

• Helping share the real stories of scholars whose lives are being transformed through education

What we are looking for

• Demonstrated experience in public relations, communication, and media (individual or agency)

• Strong writing and storytelling skills

• Established media relationships and experience pitching to the media

• An interest in education, social impact and gender equity
