As a HammondCare Social Visitor, you’ll be carefully matched with an older person who may be experiencing social isolation, bringing a meaningful, and positive difference to their life.

You don’t need special qualifications — just a kind heart and a steady, reliable nature. Volunteers should be: • Compassionate and patient • Comfortable chatting with older people • 18 years or older • Able to commit to regular visits • Willing to complete a National Police Check (organised by HammondCare)

All volunteers receive training, support, and ongoing guidance.

Your time together may include: • Friendly conversations • Sharing stories and memories • Doing puzzles, reading, music, or simple hobbies • Gentle walks or time outdoors • Building a warm, ongoing connection that brightens their week
