Bushcare Volunteer - Pigott St (Hoskins Park, Dulwich Hill) - Fridays - #239660

Inner West Council

Pigott St Bushcare is located along the light rail corridor in Dulwich Hill. This bushcare site, among others was started by the Inner West Environment Group with the support of council. Over the years the site has progressed through hard work from the community, transforming a degraded rail siding to a stunning example of Sydney Turpentine-Ironbark Forest. This site sits within the Greenway corridor and its proximity to the Inner West Light Rail corridor provides a unique experience for volunteers and a surprisingly tranquil refuge as one of Sydney's most urban Natural Areas.

Volunteers will help maintain this corridor of bushland, focusing on weed control, mulching and planting new native trees, shrubs and groundcovers.

Bushcare at Pigott St runs on the 2nd Friday of the month from 9:30am - 11:30am. Tool belts, training and morning tea is provided, and you will work under the guidance of a qualified bush regenerator.

We meet at the northern end of Pigott St at the locked gate.

Benefits: Bushcare is a fantastic opportunity to learn about your local flora and fauna. You will develop your plant ID skills, learn about conservation and land management and help mitigate the largest threats to biodiversity in an urban setting.

You will be working outside with like-minded people, making friends while giving back to the community.

Morning tea is provided every session.
