Community mental health events and peer support
Hope4U Foundation is a not‑for‑profit organisation dedicated to suicide prevention, postvention grief support, and mental health wellbeing within vulnerable communities. The foundation provides free counselling services, grief and loss groups, community education, and awareness events for individuals and families impacted by suicide, trauma, domestic violence, homelessness, and mental health challenges. Hope4U operates through a strong community‑led model, supported by trained volunteers, counsellors, ambassadors, and a volunteer Board, with services delivered across community centres and local events 123.
Key Duties of the Volunteer Role As a Hope4U Counselling and Events Volunteer, you may be involved in one or more of the following: • Supporting community counselling sessions, grief and loss groups, and peer support programs • Assisting with event setup, pack‑down, and on‑the‑day coordination at Hope4U events and awareness activities • Providing a safe, respectful, and compassionate presence for people accessing Hope4U services • Assisting with community outreach, information stalls, and fundraising events • Supporting facilitators and counsellors with non‑clinical tasks (where appropriate) • Upholding confidentiality and ethical standards when working with vulnerable individuals • Attending volunteer meetings and training sessions as required • Representing Hope4U in a positive, professional, and values‑aligned manner
