LLAMA (League of Latin American Migrants Australia) is a not-for-profit delivering online English classes to Latin American migrants and international students.
Many of our students rely on these sessions to build confidence, improve communication, and secure employment. As a volunteer teacher, your contribution can have a direct and lasting impact.

Classes are offered from complete beginner (zero English) up to upper-intermediate level.
Sessions can be scheduled any day of the week (Monday to Sunday), depending on the teacher’s availability, and may start between 8:00 am and 8:30 pm.
Each session runs for 1.5 hours and is delivered in a friendly, supportive environment, without the pressure of a traditional classroom.
Our classes focus on practical, real-life English and may include:

Grammar

English for employment (CVs, interviews, workplace communication)

Australian English, slang and idioms

Pronunciation

Workplace vocabulary
These topics are a guide only. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own teaching style and adapt content based on their experience and student needs.
Lessons can also include relevant Australian contexts such as public transport, education, workplace culture, and cultural events to help students better understand life in Australia.
Each session runs for 1.5 hours and is delivered in a friendly, supportive environment without the pressure of a traditional classroom.
Class size: 5–20 participants
THE ROLE
Help adult Spanish speakers migrants build confidence in their English skills.
You will facilitate sessions, support learners at different levels, and contribute to a positive learning environment. You may also contribute ideas to improve class content.
We welcome volunteers with a range of teaching or facilitation experience. If you are confident using English and enjoy supporting others to learn, we encourage you to apply. This role is best suited to native or highly fluent English speakers, ideally with a strong understanding of Australian English, accent, and everyday communication.
DUTIES

Deliver engaging online sessions via Zoom

Support speaking, listening, reading and writing development

Use simple resources, visuals and interactive activities

Provide constructive feedback to participants

Share practical language and cultural insights
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Attend occasional meetings and training
-Provide a brief session summary
-Notify unavailability (24h notice preferred)
-Raise concerns or feedback
