Bush Regenerators - Lane Cove National Park @ Pages Creek, North Ryde - Fridays

Would you like to be outdoors, working in a small team, making a positive contribution to the environment? This may be the opportunity for you. NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) are starting a new bushcare group on Friday mornings in Lane Cove National Park and are looking for volunteers. Our first day is Friday the 10th of April. We will meet at 8:30am, 35 Gilda Street in North Ryde. Benefits of joining our group include: • Working in a small welcoming team • Learning about our local native flora and fauna • An opportunity to attend a free one-day workshop with other new volunteers • Free entry into NSW National Parks (Conditions apply) • Working in a highly resilient national park site with diverse vegetation communities including Sydney Sandstone Forest, Coachwood Rainforest, Estuarine Reedland and Mangroves What you will be doing: The 3 Rs of Bush Regeneration • Retain existing high value bushland, ensuring invasive species are removed before they can get a foothold • Regenerate areas that show signs of resilience by removing invasive species strategically, ensuring the bush determines how quickly we proceed. • Revegetate areas that are highly disturbed and show little sign of resilience.
