Shift Leader - Western Sydney

Volunteer Shift Leader – Community Connection Program
Lead a shift where people feel welcome, supported and connected.
4 Voices provides early intervention through connection - creating opportunities for women to connect with people, community, practical assistance and trusted support before challenges become crises.
Through our mobile fleet and community locations, women can share a cuppa, join an activity, access practical or digital assistance, meet others or explore what their next step might look like.
As a Community Connection Shift Leader, you will guide the volunteer team and help create a safe, welcoming and well-organised experience for everyone involved.
What you’ll do
- Lead shift briefings and help each volunteer understand their role and priorities.
- Coordinate the setup, delivery and pack-down of the Community Connection space.
- Create a positive team environment where volunteers feel welcomed, valued and supported.
- Guide volunteers as they welcome women, facilitate activities and provide practical or digital assistance.
- Encourage good communication, teamwork and learning throughout the shift.
- Support safe and respectful practice, including consent, privacy, safeguarding and escalation.
- Help volunteers respond confidently when a woman needs additional or specialist support.
- Capture key shift information, incidents and outcomes and share relevant insights with the Regional Volunteer Lead.
- Lead a short debrief so volunteers can reflect, share feedback and finish the shift feeling supported.
This could be a great fit if you
- Enjoy helping people feel confident, included and part of a team.
- Have experience supervising, mentoring, coaching or coordinating others.
- Communicate warmly, clearly and respectfully.
- Can remain calm, use good judgement and ask for support when needed.
- Are organised, reliable and comfortable coordinating practical activities.
- Value dignity, choice, connection and the strengths every woman brings.
- Have experience in community services, disability, aged care, mental health, family support, homelessness, youth services or another people-focused environment.
