Organisational Background The Equanimity Project is a social impact initiative focused on supporting individuals experiencing coercive control, domestic and family violence, and complex life transitions. The Legal Doula™ Program is designed to ensure no one faces the legal system alone and is a new initiative.

Key Duties As a Legal Doula™, you will provide practical and emotional support to people navigating the legal system. Duties may include: • Accompanying clients to court or legal appointments • Explaining processes in laymen’s language • Assisting with organising documents and preparation • Working on timeline documents • Taking notes during proceedings • Providing calm, supportive presence before and after court • Referring clients to appropriate services Skills and Experience We are seeking individuals with legal knowledge and a compassionate approach with a touch of empathy: • Background as a retired lawyer, paralegal, legal assistant, or knowledge of administrative or business law • Strong communication skills and ability to simplify complex information • Empathy, professionalism, and respect for boundaries (non-advisory role) • Reliable and able to commit on a flexible, ad hoc basis • Interest in access to justice and community support
