Aussies4Cures Foundation (trading as For A Cure Foundation) is seeking a Volunteer / Pro Bono Legal Counsel to support the organisation’s governance and legal framework during its structured growth phase.

The organisation is a founder-led not-for-profit focused on advancing regenerative medicine research, including stem cells, gene-based therapies, and longevity science, and is building a strong governance and compliance framework to support long-term impact.

Role Overview

This is a senior, hands-on advisory role providing legal guidance across not-for-profit governance, constitutional structuring, and regulatory compliance.

The successful applicant will work directly with the Founder and leadership team to help establish and refine the organisation’s legal and governance architecture.

This is not a training, internship, or junior support role.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting and refining charter and constitutional documents
• Advising on ACNC governance and regulatory compliance
• Designing and strengthening board and governance frameworks
• Reviewing commercial, advisory, and partnership agreements
• Supporting structuring between charitable and related impact entities

Engagement

• Volunteer / Pro Bono basis (initially)
• Engagement is ad hoc and flexible, based on organisational needs
• Periods of higher input may be required during key governance or structuring work
• Remote (Sydney preferred)
• This role is intended to transition into a paid advisory position as the organisation secures funding and progresses through its growth phase

Who This Role Is For

Experienced legal professionals or firms with:

• Strong background in not-for-profit / charity law
• Proven experience in ACNC compliance and governance structuring
• Ability to operate independently without supervision
• Commercial and strategic legal thinking

Important Note

This is a senior advisory role only. Not suitable for students, graduates, trainees, or applicants without direct not-for-profit governance experience.
