Board Treasurer

Key Duties
- Prepare the annual budget and cash flow projections for board review and sign-off
- Record all financial transactions in the organisation's accounting system and maintain a register of assets and liabilities
- Provide monthly profit and loss reports and balance sheets to the board
- Compare actual financial results against budget and provide variance explanations to the board in a timely manner
- Present monthly payment summaries, outstanding revenues, and upcoming liabilities to the board
- Implement financial management procedures that protect the organisation's funds, assets, and the volunteers who handle them
- Control and oversee Dodgeball Australia's bank account(s), ensuring appropriate authorisation controls and dual-signatory payment processes
- Ensure all approved expenditure is paid on time and all revenue owed to the organisation is collected
- Produce the annual financial report for presentation to members at the AGM
- Ensure all legislative and regulatory financial reporting obligations are met, including audit or review requirements
Skills and Experience
- Experience in financial management, accounting, or bookkeeping — a qualified accountant or CPA background is highly regarded but not essential
- Ability to prepare and interpret budgets, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn, financial governance and compliance obligations relevant to a company limited by guarantee
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Familiarity with accounting software or online financial tools
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to a non-finance audience
- Demonstrated integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial information
- Prior board, committee, or treasurer experience in a sporting, community, or not-for-profit organisation is an advantage

- Evidence of right to work in Australia (birth certificate, citizenship, permanent residency, or valid visa)

Dodgeball Australia (DA) is the peak national body for Dodgeball in Australia. Our responsibility is to promote and maintain the growth of Dodgeball across all Australian states and territories. We unify the rules and policies for Dodgeball in Australia to ensure it is recognised as a legitimate sport that attracts talented and enthusiastic athletes at both social and international levels.
With the support of our dedicated team of volunteers and members, we deliver adult and youth development programmes, coaching certifications, social activities, and world-class tournaments for the benefit of the sport and our community. Dodgeball Australia is an official member of the World Dodgeball Federation (WDBF).
