EVENTS VOLUNTEER

• List position tasks, activities /responsibilities • Attend and take minutes at planning meetings with MAC Coordinator and other stakeholders • Carry out relevant action items from meetings • Communicate clearly both written and verbally • Be able to pivot quickly to new tasks in a changing environment • Report hazards or risks to MAC Coordinator • Follow all reasonable directions provided by Manager The rostering of hours and days will be negotiated to meet the availability of the volunteer and the needs of the service.
• We usually deliver 2-3 events each year at the MAC • Each event has approximately 8 weeks lead in time • The volunteer time commitment increases closer to event day
Each event is different, but here is a typical guide of volunteer time commitments:
• Weeks 1-6 require 2 hours per week administration support • Week 7 requires 3 hours administration support & sourcing equipment • Week 8 requires 4 hours administration support & sourcing equipment • Bump-In requires 4 hours the day before event day physically preparing the space • Event Day requires 6 hours supporting the event to run smoothly plus Bump-Out.
List of skills, qualifications &/or experience required for the project • Experience in event planning and delivery • Experience in collaborating and communicating in a team • Ability to be flexible to accommodate different views and approaches • Ability to perform physical tasks e.g. moving tables and chairs, carrying boxes of equipment, kneeling on the ground to secure sound cables with gaffa tape, etc • Ability to actively support Mission Australia’s purpose and values • Ability to work in accordance with Mission Australia policies and procedures
