Arts Trail Venue Support

Purpose
Arts Trail Venue Support Volunteers will work on-site at participating Arts Trail venues on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August 2026 to support artists and venue hosts during the event.
Key tasks
- Welcome visitors to the venue in a friendly and professional manner, offering a brief introduction to the artist(s), artworks and venue layout
- Assist with visitor flow, including monitoring numbers in the space and supporting a safe, comfortable and accessible environment
- Support artists and venue hosts with general customer service tasks, allowing them to focus on engaging with visitors
- Count and record visitor numbers as required, using provided tools or templates
- Invite visitors to participate in Arts Trail evaluation activities, including surveys or feedback tools (e.g. QR codes), in line with Council guidelines
- Encourage respectful behaviour around artworks and help maintain a tidy, welcoming venue
- Report any issues, incidents or concerns to the Arts Trail team or venue contact.

Additional requirements prior to placement
- Available to complete one or two volunteer shifts across the Arts Trail weekend.
- Adhere to the Surf Coast Arts Trail Code of Conduct 2026.
- Hold a current Working with Children Check and provide a copy to Council as a part of the application process.
- Volunteers at Surf Coast Shire are expected to participate in Child safe training at an agreed time within the first three months of volunteering.
- Participate in post-event evaluation to support continuous improvement.
