Training

All volunteers at the Heart Foundation are supported by a paid member of our team. Comprehensive induction and training program (CPR/AED awareness, public speaking, community engagement). Access to ongoing learning modules, updates, and check-ins. You will receive support from a local co-ordinator, other volunteers in your area and reporting tools

Time required

Anticipated that volunteers can deliver at least one 60 to 90 minute session per month, scheduling can be flexible and designed to match with availability of trainer and community needs.

Reimbursement

All out of pocket costs will be covered.

Requirements

Confidence in public speaking and group facilitation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for heart health, community service, or lived experience with cardiac arrest Willingness to learn and follow structured scripts and approved responses. Commitment to delivering information accurately and consistently, in line with training and guidelines recognising that volunteers play a vital role in maintaining the quality and credibility of the program. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to attend online meetings and training sessions Previous medical or current first aid training (HLTDAID009) including but not limited to doctors, enrolled or registered nurses, paramedics, State Emergency Services, Surf Lifesaving, St John’s Ambulance, qualified first aid trainers, or other people with significant experience or a passion for this type of initiative.
