Community Connection Volunteer - Western Sydney

Community Connection Volunteer
Sometimes making a difference begins with something simple - a cuppa, a shared activity, practical help or taking the time to listen.
4 Voices creates welcoming spaces where women can stop by, join in and connect. A woman might come to charge her phone, access Wi-Fi, get help with an online task, join an activity or simply enjoy a conversation.
Whatever brings her to us, our volunteers help create a place where she feels welcome.
What this opportunity offers
As a Community Connection Volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Make a meaningful contribution in your local community.
- Meet and volunteer alongside kind, purpose-driven people.
- Build practical communication, teamwork and digital-support skills.
- Receive training, guidance and ongoing support.
- Be part of moments that may feel small but can have a lasting impact.
You don’t need community-services experience or all the answers. Bring your warmth, life experience and willingness to join in - we’ll help you build the rest.
The moments you could help create
You might help create a moment where:
- A woman joins an activity and feels comfortable being part of something.
- A practical or digital task feels easier because someone is beside her.
- Someone leaves feeling heard, valued or a little less alone.
Sometimes connection leads to a practical next step. Sometimes the connection itself is what matters.
What a shift might look like
Alongside your team, you may:
- Help create a warm and inviting space at one of our mobile or community locations.
- Welcome women, offer a cuppa and help everyone feel included.
- Join activities such as colouring, craft, journalling, games or seed planting.
- Share conversation and listen with genuine interest.
- Help with simple practical or digital tasks using the resources provided.
- Share important information and observations with your Shift Leader.
Every shift is different, and you’ll always have a team around you.
This could suit you if you
- Enjoy meeting people and helping others feel included.
- Are warm, respectful and open-minded.
- Can listen with empathy, openness and without judgement.
- Like being part of a team and are willing to learn.
- Are reliable and can commit to regular rostered shifts.
You’ll be supported
You’ll receive induction, practical training, clear resources and ongoing guidance from your Shift Leader and volunteer team.
You’ll never be expected to manage a difficult situation or know what to do alone.
If you’re looking for a volunteer experience where you can connect with others, contribute to your community and know your time matters, we’d love you to join us.
