At EdConnect Australia, we recruit, train and mobilise a dedicated community of volunteers to provide life‑changing mentoring for students who are at risk of not reaching their full potential. We carefully match students who would benefit from a positive adult role model with a trained mentor. Mentors and students meet at school for one hour each week, building trusting relationships through fun, interest‑based activities. In particular, we are currently seeking volunteers with an interest in robotics or mathematics who would enjoy mentoring a child with similar interests.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life and all ages. You might be retired or semi‑retired and seeking a meaningful way to give back, a tertiary student wanting hands‑on experience working with young people, or employed in an organisation that values community volunteering. What unites our mentors is a genuine desire to support students, along with patience, empathy, open‑mindedness and strong listening skills. Many volunteers describe their mentoring experience as deeply rewarding. While they play an important role in helping students build confidence and thrive, they often find the impact extends far beyond the classroom — enriching their own lives as well. Over the years, we have recruited and trained thousands of volunteers who have supported many more thousands of young people across Australia.
