Board President (Volunteer) - NSW Incorporated Association

Road User Rehabilitation Inc.

About the organisation Road User Rehabilitation Inc. is an established NSW incorporated association that has been delivering court-referred and voluntary traffic offender rehabilitation programs for more than ten years.

Our programs support safer roads and better outcomes for participants by addressing the behaviours that lead to traffic-related offences. We operate with a stable revenue base, an experienced Treasurer and Secretary, and an established program framework.

About the role We are restructuring our committee and seeking a capable, values-aligned individual to serve as President. This is a meaningful governance opportunity to lead a respected, fully operational not-for-profit with strong foundations already in place.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Chairing committee meetings and providing strategic leadership
  • Supporting good governance and compliance with NSW associations legislation
  • Acting as a signatory and representative of the association where required
  • Working collaboratively with the Treasurer, Secretary, and Programs Manager

Who we are looking for This role is well-suited to:

  • Legal professionals (particularly lawyers seeking practical governance experience)
  • Experienced board members or executives interested in NFP leadership
  • Professionals committed to road safety, rehabilitation, or community wellbeing

Prior board experience is welcome but not essential. Integrity, sound judgement, and a willingness to support a small, well-run organisation are the most important attributes.

Time commitment Minimal. The role typically requires one to two online meetings per year, plus occasional correspondence. All meetings are held remotely.

Remuneration This position is offered on a volunteer basis. A modest remuneration arrangement may be discussed if preferred.
