Volunteer Senior Finance Officer, AJAR Australia

Asia Pacific Justice and Rights, or AJAR Australia, is a regional human rights organisation focusing on accountability and working towards a world without impunity.
The organisation envisions a just and peaceful Asia-Pacific where survivors of human rights violations and local human rights defenders take the lead in building inclusive, accountable, and resilient societies.
AJAR Australia is seeking a Senior Finance Officer (Volunteer) to support the organisation’s financial management and reporting. The position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with donor requirements and AJAR Australia’s financial management.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the CEO in financial planning, budgeting, and financial management activities.
• Working with AJAR's Bookkeeper, ensure compliance with donor, and organisational financial requirements and reports.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and support audit and compliance processes.
Qualifications and Experience (Desirable)
• At least five years of experience in financial management, accounting, preferably in the non-profit or development sector;
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, budgeting, and financial reporting requirements;
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar) and Excel;
• Commitment to AJAR’s mission and values of justice, and inclusion.
