Community Engagement Officer
For 65 years, Palms International Volunteering has supported skilled Australians to live and work alongside communities in the Asia-Pacific. Our volunteers don’t ‘fix’ problems – they build relationships, strengthen local capacity, and walk with communities striving for dignity and opportunity. The position of Community Engagement Officer is a pivotal role with responsibility for effective community engagement to promote awareness of Palms International Volunteering in Australia and to increase volunteer recruitment for the Palms overseas volunteering program.
The role will involve engaging with schools, families, and community networks to enhance awareness, interest and engagement with Palms’ activities. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with initiative, the ability to self-organise and manage their own work with the strong communication skills that carries Palms vision and mission to Australian communities.
Selection Criteria • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and self-manage projects • Good collaborative skills to work in a small organisation • Experience using Microsoft Office 365, Trello and Zoom or Teams
Ideal for someone who wants to work in community development or in the not-for-profit sector.
Interviews will take place between 26th – 29th May at our Petersham office.
