Volunteer Musician – Community Storytelling Event (Warragul VIC)
We are seeking a local volunteer musician to be part of a meaningful community storytelling and book launch event titled 'So, Who Are you Anyway?', to be held at Warragul Community House in Gippsland.
This is more than a traditional book launch. The event is designed as a community gathering focused on connection, lived experience, mental health awareness, and reducing social isolation through storytelling and shared experiences.
We are looking for a musician from the local region who would like to help create a warm, welcoming, and reflective atmosphere through music. We especially value community-led involvement and would love to connect with someone who understands the importance of regional communities and bringing people together.
The event will include a reading from local author Sarah Rosse, a panel discussion and community conversation, creative participation activities, and informal connection over afternoon tea.
Key duties include:
Performing live music as attendees arrive and settle into the event Providing background music during afternoon tea and informal networking Helping create a relaxed, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere Collaborating with organisers on the tone and flow of the event
We are ideally looking for acoustic, gentle, or reflective music suited to a small indoor community gathering.
This role would suit:
Local musicians from Warragul, Baw Baw Shire, or surrounding Gippsland areas Acoustic musicians or singer-songwriters Emerging artists wanting community event experience Musicians passionate about storytelling, connection, and community wellbeing
This event is delivered by Warragul Community House in partnership with Kintsugi Heroes, a not-for-profit storytelling organisation focused on connection, inclusion, and reducing social isolation through community storytelling initiatives.
