Pacific Guardians is a veteran-led humanitarian organisation focused on disaster response, remote field operations, and resilience support across the Pacific region.
We specialise in:
- rapid disaster assessments
- remote and hard-to-reach operations
- humanitarian coordination support
- resilience and preparedness initiatives
The organisation is currently establishing its Australian charity structure while building operational partnerships across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific. Pacific Guardians works closely with local civil society organisations, government stakeholders, and regional partners.
Our aim is to build a highly credible, agile operational capability that can provide practical support before, during, and after disasters across the Pacific.
The Opportunity
Pacific Guardians is seeking a volunteer Fundraising & Partnerships Manager to help build the organisation’s external relationships, funding opportunities, and long-term sustainability.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to help shape an emerging humanitarian organisation from the ground floor and contribute to meaningful operational impact across the Pacific region.

Key Duties
The volunteer will assist with:
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
- Identifying potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities
- Supporting development of funding proposals and sponsorship approaches
- Helping maintain donor and supporter relationships
- Assisting with fundraising campaigns and outreach activities
Partnerships & External Relations
- Building relationships with businesses, NGOs, veteran organisations, and community groups
- Supporting strategic partnership development
- Assisting with stakeholder engagement and networking opportunities
- Helping coordinate meetings, introductions, and follow-up communications
Strategic Support
- Assisting leadership with growth planning and organisational development
- Helping identify opportunities for collaboration and visibility
- Supporting event planning, presentations, and awareness activities
Communications Support
- Assisting with LinkedIn presence and external communications
- Helping prepare basic partnership and donor materials
- Supporting monthly updates or stakeholder communications
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone who is:
- A strong communicator and relationship-builder
- Organised and proactive
- Comfortable networking and engaging with people professionally
- Interested in humanitarian, veteran, disaster response, or Pacific community work
- Able to work independently and take initiative
Helpful (but not essential) experience includes:
- fundraising
- business development
- partnerships or sponsorship
- sales/account management
- marketing or communications
- NGO or community sector involvement
