About the Organisation

Centre of Advanced Technologies in Cancer Research (CATCR) is a not-for-profit charity advancing cancer research through technology and innovation.

We invite Expressions of Interest from experienced leaders to strengthen our Board's capability to support sustainable funding, ethical partnerships, and responsible stewardship of donor and supporter relationships.

About the Role

The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) will provide fiduciary responsibility in safeguarding CATCR's financial integrity, sustainability and accountability.

Working closely with the Board, the role provides strategic financial oversight, participates in Finance & Risk Committee meetings and ensures the Board has clear financial insights to support CATCR's mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all financial, regulatory and reporting obligations
  • Oversee preparation and Board approval of the annual budget
  • Review and present financial reports to the Board
  • Monitor cash flow, reserves and long-term financial sustainability
  • Ensure restricted and research-funded monies are appropriately tracked and reported
  • Contribute to funding strategy discussions (grants, & partnerships)

About You

You will bring:

  • Senior finance background (Financial Controller or CFO experience desirable)
  • Experience with non-profit, charity-based organisations
  • MBA, CPA, CA or equivalent professional background desirable
  • Alignment with the CATCR's mission and values

Postgraduate qualifications are desirable.

Time Commitment

This role involves participation in board meetings, Finance & Risk Committee meetings and involvement in annual budgeting and audit cycles
