Food Sourcing & Supply Coordinator

As our Food Sourcing & Supply Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring Hornsby Connect has a reliable, high‑quality supply of food, fresh vegetables, and related products each week. Your work directly supports our food‑relief operations and helps hundreds of local households access affordable, nutritious food.
Key duties include
- Sourcing and securing food supplies, and maintaining strong relationships with donors and suppliers
- Monitoring stock levels, forecasting demand, and ensuring food safety and quality
- Negotiating donations or supply arrangements and keeping accurate sourcing records
- Working closely with warehouse and logistics volunteers to support smooth operations
Skills and experience we’re looking for
We’d love someone who has:
- Understanding of food supply or produce, with sourcing experience
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with suppliers and donors
- Good organisation, reliability, and a proactive, problem‑solving approach
- Commitment to community impact and ethical sourcing
If you’ve worked in areas such as:
- Food procurement or wholesale produce
- Hospitality or commercial kitchens
- Supermarkets, grocery retail, or fresh‑food departments
