Who we are The Social Local Collective is a grassroots charity all about reducing loneliness, building real connection, and creating happier, healthier communities.

We’re here to help people feel more connected — to their community and to each other. We create simple, meaningful ways for people to show up, feel seen, and have some fun while doing it.

What the role looks like We’re starting pretty much from scratch — and that’s where you come in. You’ll help us launch and run our social media accounts, building a digital space that actually feels good to be in.

You’ll: Create and post content that’s warm, real, and engaging Share what we’re doing in the community and encourage people to get involved Help shape our tone and visual identity Throw in ideas, experiment, and bring your own style to it

This could be for you if... You’re comfortable using a variety of social media platforms You enjoy making content and telling stories that matter You care about connection, mental health, and helping people feel less alone You’re organised, creative, and happy to work independently You want to use your skills for something meaningful

What the time commitment looks like Around 2–4 hours a week but really whatever works for you Work remotely and flexibly We’ll check in now and then — and if you're remote, a quick FaceTime/phone call here or there is great We’ll start with a relaxed intro chat to set things up

The impact you’ll have This is about more than just posts — it’s about building something that helps people take that first step toward connection.

You’ll help create an online space that motivates people to show up, say hi, and take part — even if it’s a bit outside their comfort zone.

We want to see more kindness, more conversations, and more people who feel like they belong. You’ll be a big part of making that happen.
