Join us for the Spirit to Cure Suncorp Newcastle Walk on 23 September 2026, a memorable day bringing people together to move with purpose and support a future free from cancer. Set against Newcastle’s stunning coastline, this event is all about community, connection, and making an impact.

The Event

Starting and finishing at the Honeysuckle Hotel, the event hub will be full of energy as participants gather, set out, and celebrate their achievement. Walkers can choose between a 21 km or 10 km loop, taking in some of Newcastle’s most iconic scenery.

Route Highlights

Participants will experience a memorable course, including:

  • Newcastle Harbour’s vibrant waterfront
  • Coastal paths with sweeping ocean views
  • Nobby’s Beach and its iconic lighthouse
  • The historic Bogey Hole ocean pool
  • A relaxed return through green inner‑city streets

Volunteers Make It Happen

We’re seeking enthusiastic bike marshals and medical or first aid–certified volunteers (on or off bike) to help deliver a safe, well-supported event.

  • Bike marshals guide participants, provide encouragement, and help keep the event running smoothly
  • Medical and first aid volunteers offer essential care and reassurance, supporting participant wellbeing along the course

These are active, rewarding roles that place you right at the centre of the event experience.

Who It’s Perfect For

Open to anyone aged 18+, this opportunity is ideal for:

  • Individuals wanting to contribute to a meaningful cause
  • Corporate teams planning a hands-on CSR day
  • Cycling enthusiasts keen to support a community event
  • Medical professionals or first aid–certified volunteers wanting to use their skills in a practical setting
  • Friends or colleagues looking to volunteer together
  • Students or professionals seeking hands-on experience
  • Anyone who enjoys being active, social, and part of a positive environment
