What Were You Wearing? Australia is an organisation dedicated to ending sexual violence in Australia. Our mission is rooted in lived-experience, cultural safety and trauma informed care. We exist to amplify the voices of victim-survivors of domestic, sexual and family violence, to dismantle stigma and create pathways to healing that are inclusive, accessible, and empowering whilst advocating for policy change.

We are actively seeking State Officers to join our newly established South Australian Team!

We encourage anyone from any background and faculty with a passion for social justice, advocacy, and ending gender-based violence.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Help design, research, plan and execute advocacy and educational campaigns and programs
  • Develop campaign concepts
  • Brainstorm and pitch ideas for social media posts related to social justice, topical issues, gender-based violence and/or education surrounding these topics
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Creative teams to create your own posts, adhering to WWYW's theme, tone, and brand
  • Assist in planning and delivering fundraising events and awareness campaigns
  • Represent WWYW at events or at outreach initiatives as required
  • Attend team and state meetings
  • Maintain strong communication with the State General Manager
  • Support fellow team members as needed and contribute ideas for continuous improvement

Passion for social justice, education, gender equality and ending sexual violence Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build relationships internally and externally Self motivated, reliable, and comfortable working within a remote flexible, volunteer environment Understanding of trauma informed and survivor-led approaches (or willingness to learn)

Additional Information:

This is a volunteer role and currently based remotely. WWYW does not have a fixed office location.

A 3-month probation period applies to allow for mutual fit, role clarity, and confidence in continuing

WWYW encourages applicants with lived experience to apply, however, this is not a requirement

Regular check-ins and support will be provided to ensure a safe and collaborative environment.
