Volunteer Visitor - First Nations Community (Female Identified Role)
We are seeking a compassionate and culturally grounded Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander volunteer to provide social visits and companionship to an older First Nations woman living in a rural community. This role is about connection, respect and supporting cultural wellbeing through regular visits, conversations, and shared time.
Key responsibilities are:

Spend time visiting and yarning with the client in her home or community setting.

Provide companionship and emotional support.

Respect and support cultural practices, values, and identity.

Help reduce loneliness and strengthen community connection.
Who are we looking for:

Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

Female-identifying volunteering (to respect cultural and personal preferences).

Warm, patient, and respectful nature.

Strong listening and communication skills.

Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, cultural protocols and community expectations.

Reliable and able to maintain appropriate boundaries.
Desirable (but not essential)

Experience working with Elders or in community care.

Connection to local community or region.

Driver's licence and access to transport.
