About Us Horse Aid delivers structured equine-assisted programs (similar to equine therapy) for serving and ex-serving Defence personnel and first responders living with service-related trauma.
Working with Thoroughbred ex-racehorses, our programs create a grounded, practical environment where both people and horses can rebuild confidence, connection and trust.
The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Corporate Secretary to support our Board and governance framework as we grow.
This is a steady, trusted role—helping ensure the organisation is well-run, compliant and positioned to continue expanding its impact.
Your contribution will sit quietly in the background, but it will be essential.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting Board meetings (agendas, papers, minutes) Maintaining governance and compliance frameworks (such as with ASIC and ACNC) Advising on best practice governance Keeping key records and documentation up to date Supporting clear and well-structured decision-making

What We’re Looking For Significant experience as a Corporate Secretary (ideally NFP) Strong understanding of governance and compliance Experience working with Boards High attention to detail and discretion Thoughtful, steady and aligned with our purpose
Helpful (but not essential): Experience in the not-for-profit sector Interest in Defence, veterans or first responders Interest in horses, the racing industry, or animal welfare Previous involvement in volunteer or community organisations Time Commitment
Approx. 2–4 hours per week (varies with Board cycle) Remote, with occasional virtual meetings Ongoing preferred
