Training

Defence Youth Protection Awareness Course, Defence Youth Safe Code of Conduct (Adult), Training on the IT system and all necessary skills to that you feel confident and capable to lead cadets in the program.

Time required

Flexible and designed to fit around your work and personal commitments. Most Adult Cadet Staff contribute approximately 3-4 hours per week (typically one evening parade night) Occasional weekend activities and one camp in the July or September school holidays (optional but encouraged). There is also training that is provided once you are accepted into the program. We recognise that availability varies, and roles can be tailored to suit your capacity and interests.

Reimbursement

Initially as Defence Approved Helper, there are no reimbursements, however, if you decide to progress to an Army Cadet Staff member, you will receive an honorarium for the time you commit.

Requirements

National Police Certificate
Working with Children Check

Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to attend regular activities (typically one evening per week) Basic computer skills Willingness to undertake youth safety screening checks.
