Volunteer Community Outreach Coordinator Step Out for Cancer | Tour de Cure
We’re looking for a motivated Volunteer Community Outreach Coordinator to help grow awareness and participation for Step Out for Cancer, a large-scale charity walk and run event supporting childhood cancer research and care.
This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to contribute to a meaningful cause, build real-world experience in community engagement, events, marketing, or fundraising, and be part of a high-impact national charity initiative.
About Step Out for Cancer Step Out for Cancer is Tour de Cure’s flagship family-friendly fundraising event — a 6km walk and 5km, 10km, and Challenge Run experience through some of Sydney’s most iconic sporting locations, finishing at a vibrant festival celebration at Royal Randwick.
All funds raised support the Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre, helping improve outcomes for children with cancer through research and clinical care.
The Role As a Volunteer Community Outreach Coordinator, you will help drive registrations by connecting with: • Local run clubs and running communities • Sports teams and fitness groups • Schools and universities • Community organisations and youth networks Your focus will be on encouraging group participation, building excitement, and helping teams sign up for the event.
Key Responsibilities • Reach out to run clubs, sports clubs, and schools across Sydney • Promote group/team registrations for Step Out for Cancer • Support awareness of the event within local communities • Help build momentum leading up to event day • Track outreach and engagement activities
About You We’re looking for someone who is: • Confident communicating with people and community groups • Organised and self-motivated • Passionate about charity, sport, or community impact • Comfortable doing outreach via email, phone, or social media • A student looking for experience (Duke of Ed / work experience highly encouraged)
