Join the Falie Crew and help bring more than 100 years of South Australian maritime history to life.

Historic Ketch Falie Inc. is looking for volunteers who would like to contribute their time, skills and ideas to support the future of the historic ketch Falie.

Falie is not just remembered — she is carried forward by the people who care about her. When you connect with Falie, you become part of a living legacy. Every volunteer, supporter and community member helps protect her story and carry it into the future. Every person who cares becomes a guardian of her story.

Volunteering with Falie is not only about scraping paint, painting or manual maintenance. There are many ways to help, and every extra person makes the work easier, better and more interesting for everyone involved.

We are looking for people who may be interested in education, events, community engagement, heritage research, storytelling, administration, fundraising, sponsorship, digital projects, photography, writing, design, volunteer support or public displays.

Volunteers may help with children’s activities such as Pirate School, school holiday programs, community events, displays, newsletters, social media, records, photos, learning resources, grant support, merchandise tables, public engagement or special projects connected with Falie’s history and future.

You do not need maritime, trade or boatbuilding experience to make a valuable contribution. A positive attitude, reliability and willingness to work as part of a team are the most important qualities.

This opportunity may suit students, younger volunteers, retired people, professionals, educators, creatives, administrators, digital volunteers, tradespeople, researchers, history enthusiasts or anyone who enjoys community and heritage.

Flexible involvement is welcome. Even if you can offer four hours a fortnight, that still helps build momentum in looking after Falie and sharing her story.

Come aboard. Create, connect and help bring Falie’s history to life.
